The “ Riojan joy ” is a typical hot pepper from La Rioja and Ribera Navarra with a bright red color, thick meat and thin skin. This variety is planted in spring and is harvested at the end of summer manually and at its optimum point of maturity. Its high concentration of capsaicin makes it a very hot pepper. The hot, dry and increasingly long summers enhance, even more, that quality.
